Sardis Lake is located on the Little Tallahatchie River. The dam site is southeast of the town of Sardis, Mississippi. The dam was built originally for flood control, but serves as a recreational destination, as well. The annual visitation is approximately 5 million people. The lake is highly popular with anglers and has an abundant supply of bass and crappie. Other recreation activities include camping, hunting, boating, swimming, skiing, and picnicking.
